Our travel was amazingly uneventful. Everything was perfectly on time, no groping by security people, and we even had pretty decent sleep on the 13 hr flight from Frankfurt to Bangkok. We arrived in Jakarta a bit before noon on Friday (Jakarta time...midnight Thursday/Friday). Jaime and Adrian met us at the airport, and we relished the long-awaited hugs from Adrian--the kind of hug where you don't know if he will ever let go. Sweet.

We really have had no jet lag to speak of. Jaime had lined up massages for us on Friday afternoon, and then we took about an hour nap. Went to an amazing mall for dinner and some window shopping.

This is a place of unbelievable contrast. Vendors pushing carts in the street...beggars in traffic...and then a Bentley dealership at the mall.

Russ and I went to Adrian's gymnastics class today. Parental (grand-parental) participation encouraged! It was a cute class with a small trampoline (his favorite), other climbing toys and songs. We enjoyed lunch at the club near their home, swam and had a relaxed evening.
